Nigel Plane was born in Leicestershire and held a career in the retail finance industry for nearly forty years.
He draws inspiration for his writing through a passion for history, both ancient and modern, as well as walking and photographing the English landscape. He has a particular fondness for West Berkshire, Wiltshire, Northumbria, East Anglia and West Cornwall and these areas often form the basis for his stories
