Nigel Plane was born in Leicestershire and held a career in the retail finance industry for nearly forty years.
He draws inspiration for his writing through a passion for history, both ancient and modern, as well as walking and photographing the English landscape.
Following the "The Daughters of Carrawburgh" and "The Golden Goddess" the third in the series is shortly to be published, "The Mystery of Doe Eyes". Details can be found on this website and through the publisher by visiting the bookshop at www.troubador.co.uk/matador.

He has written several short stories, some of which appear in "Ghosts and Femmes Fatales" a collection of stories that explore the supernatural. He has a particular fondness for West Berkshire, Wiltshire, Northumbria, Norfolk and West Cornwall and these areas often form the basis for his stories.
